1980	Ken Galione was the Managing Director. 1980 The Fourth SESA International Congress on Experimental Mechanics was held in Boston in May. Attendance: 550 Bob Johnson was the SESA president. Aldie Johnson was the meeting chairman. Anthos Bray presented the Murray Lecture. A concert by the Boston Pops Orchestra was a popular scheduled highlight. 1980 SESA Fall Meeting was held at The Bahia Mar Hotelin Ft. Lauderdale, FL, October 12-15. Attendance: 162 John Prosser was the meeting chairman. Fall SESA meetings were being greatly scaled back (with elegant accommodations and a beautiful marina, who needs technical sessions?).

Clarence Chambers was the meeting chairman. Larry Broutman presented the Murray Lecture. 1981 SESA Fall Meeting was held at the Keystone Lodge in Keystone, CO, October 11-14. Attendance: 130

IMAC III was held , January 28 – 31, at the Marriott Inn on International Drive in Orlando, FL David Ewins was the keynote speaker on Uses and Abuses of Modal Testing
