1980

  • Ken Galione was the Managing Director.
  • 1980 The Fourth SESA International Congress on Experimental Mechanics was held in Boston in May.

  • Bob Johnson was the SESA president.
  • Aldie Johnson was the meeting chairman.
  • Anthos Bray presented the Murray Lecture.
    A concert by the Boston Pops Orchestra was a popular scheduled highlight.
  • 1980 SESA Fall Meeting was held at The Bahia Mar Hotelin Ft. Lauderdale, FL, October 12-15.
    Attendance: 162
  • John Prosser was the meeting chairman.
    Fall SESA meetings were being greatly scaled back (with elegant accommodations and a beautiful marina, who needs technical sessions?).

1981
