  Karl Stetson and R.J. Pryputniewicz were the conference co-organizers.
• IMAC VIII was held Feb 13 – 16m at the Hyatt Orlando in Kissimmee, FL
• Richard Pappa was the keynote speaker on ID Challenges for Large Space Structures.

1991

• Bob Sullivan was SEM President.
• Harry Fessler presented the Murray Lecture.
• 1991 SEM Fall Conference on Structural Testing Technology at High Temperature was held at the Stouffer Center Plaza Hotel in Dayton, OH, November 4-6.
• IMAC IX was scheduled for April 15 – 18, for Florence, Italy.  It was cancelled because of the Gulf War.
• This was the first year SEM was completely in charge of IMAC

• IMAC X was held Feb 3 – 7, at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego, CA
• Jan Leuridan was the keynote speaker on Modal Analysis:  A Perspective on Integration
