Structural Testing/Lightweight Structures

The goal of the Structural Testing Technical Division is to cultivate interest and to further the development of structural testing through the exchange of information on the testing of engineered structures. The Structural Testing Division meets annually during the Society's spring meeting. The status of the division's current projects, future activities, and the activities of the division's members and their associates form the basis of its annual meeting.

Structural Testing Technical Division - Updated April 2007

Structural Testing TD encompass a broad multidisciplinary field of research and application where methods of stress analysis, studies on material behavior, inspection of structural system, NDE, structural connection, sensor development and monitoring techniques play an important role.

The major activity of the TD has been to organize technical sessions. Six sessions were organized under this TD (35, 49, 56 & 73) along with two sessions (73 and 80) were organized under general sessions. It is decided that this TD would like to organize a symposium on Structural Testing during 2008.

In Springfield, this TD will be organizing two sessions in the areas: Structural Connections & Methodologies,  Diagnostic Technology, Shock, Impact and Acoustics and Structural Condition Monitoring.
